The church in Confort has this giant wheel hanging from the ceiling with a bunch of little bells on it. You have to stand in a circle on the ground and pull the chain that hangs from it to spin the wheel and make the bells ring. The belief is that ringing the bells will prevent your child from having any speech problems. It was originally a pagan tradition, but the church adopted it in an attempt to convert more people. People used to come from all over to this particular church so that they could spin the wheel and ring these bells. We rang the bells for Elise, so hopefully her speech will be excellent! It was actually really beautiful to hear bells and fun trying to keep the wheel turning.
